The Land Services Office has moved to an online permitting system effective June 1, 2022, and no longer accepts paper permits. All applications will need to be submitted online via the RTVision website.

All zoning questions should be directed to Jessica Sonsteby or Keenan Hayes in the Mille Lacs County Land Services office.
The county will check your permit for zoning before it is sent to us for plan review. Please allow 10-15 business days for permit issue after you have submitted your application and complete set of plans. Please make sure you upload a complete set of plans in PDF form that show floor plan, cross sections, footing detail and elevation.
*** Once your permit is approved by the building official and ready for payment, please print out your Building Permit Site Inspection Record AND your Corrected Plans to have on site. Your site inspection record is the list of inspections that you need to call for and your corrected plans will be initialed by the building official and have any code corrections noted in red. ***
Frost depth for Mille Lacs county is 5 feet and ground snow load is 60 PSF.
